Why handwriting
A camera roll is where trips go to be forgotten. A journal is where they get kept. Most of us never keep one because the blank page is intimidating and the pen is somewhere in a bag.
So you type, badly, at the end of a long day, and the app does the part you would never get around to: it puts your words on ruled paper in handwriting that looks like a person wrote it, with your photos taped alongside.
Who it's for
Anyone with a trip and a phone. Travel Journals is made by TravelingSober, the sober travel publisher, and it is for adults 18 and over. The app itself is not about drinking or not drinking. It is about keeping the trip.
The reader site is open to everyone. Every published journal lives at traveljournals.app, starting with ours.
Questions people ask
Do I need an account?
To write, yes: your journals sync between your devices and publishing needs a name on the page, so the app asks for an email and a password. Readers never need one. Anyone with the link can turn the pages.
What happens when I publish?
The journal gets its own address on traveljournals.app, rendered as handwritten pages with your photos taped on. New entries you add later appear there too. Everything else you write stays private.
Can I unpublish?
Yes, per journal, any time. Unpublish and the pages come down. You can also delete your whole account from inside the app, which removes everything.
Does it cost anything?
No. The app is free with no ads, no tracking, and nothing to upgrade to.
Is it a social network?
No. There is no feed, no likes, no followers, and no comments. The app only ever shows you your own journals. The reader site is a shelf of published journals, not a timeline.
Is it only for sober travelers?
No. It is made by a sober travel publisher, but the app is for anyone who wants to keep their trips. Nothing in it is about alcohol.
