TravelingSober.com is owned and operated by TravelingSober LLC, a Florida limited liability company. By accessing or using TravelingSober.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
You agree to use the platform only for lawful purposes and in a respectful manner. Prohibited activities include:
You retain ownership of your content, but you grant us a license to display and distribute it on the platform. We may remove any content that violates these terms.
Events listed on this site are organized by members. Traveling Sober is not responsible for any incidents, safety issues, or outcomes at member-organized events.
This policy covers TravelingSober.com and the Sober Goal & Trip Builder mobile app. The short version: your data stays private, we do not sell it, and nothing you write is public unless you publish it yourself.
Account information. When you create an account we collect your first and last name, username, email address, password, and birthday. TravelingSober is an 18+ community, and your birthday is used to confirm that. Your full name and birthday stay private: other members only ever see your username.
Optional tracking you choose to set up. The app can track a sobriety date, estimated sober savings, and personal goals. All of these are optional, entered by you, visible only to you, and can be removed at any time. Skipping them is a normal way to use the app.
Content you create. Trips you plan, stories you write, and photos you attach in the app are private to your account. If you choose to publish a story, it becomes a public blog post on your profile. Anything you post publicly on the website (blogs, comments, photos, event details) is, of course, public.
Website usage data. The website uses cookies for sign-in sessions and standard analytics to understand which pages are useful. The mobile app itself contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking libraries. App notifications are optional, generated on your device, and can be turned off in the app's Settings.
To run the site and app, keep your account working, show you your own trips, goals, savings, and stories, send emails you asked for (sign-up codes, password resets, the newsletter), and keep the community safe. That is the whole list.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising. Data is shared only with the service providers that keep the platform running (hosting, content delivery, email delivery) and when the law requires it.
When you book travel through links on our site or app, you are taken to our travel partners (for example Agoda or Viator). Your booking happens on their platform under their privacy policy. We never see or handle your payment details.
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address and use it only to send you new articles and guides from TravelingSober.com. We never share or sell newsletter emails. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately.
You can edit or remove your sobriety date, savings, goals, trips, and stories at any time in the app. You can delete your entire account at travelingsober.com/settings/delete (sign in first), or email us and we will handle it. We keep your data only while your account exists, and all traffic between your device and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS).
You must be 18 or older to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
