Mia is a world-class encyclopedic art museum in the Whittier neighborhood, with roughly 100,000 works spanning 5,000 years, and general admission is always free. It is open Tuesday through Sunday 10am to 5pm, until 9pm on Thursdays, and closed Mondays. Give yourself at least 90 minutes; it is a calm, unhurried way to spend an afternoon in any season.
