Mütter Museum - Center City Philadelphia PA

About

America's finest medical history museum, founded in 1863 after Dr. Thomas Dent Mütter donated his personal collection of medical specimens to the College of Physicians of Philadelphia — an independent, historic medical society founded in 1787, not a degree-granting college despite the name. The museum displays anatomical specimens, wax models, and antique medical instruments in a 19th-century "cabinet museum" setting. Strange, genuinely educational, and it sticks with you. Give yourself at least ninety minutes. Open Wednesday–Monday, 10AM–5PM.
